On july, 23 at some time between 6 AM and 1 PM unknown vandals destroyed big part of the pareiasaurus skeleton within territory of the state natural monument, the Kotelnich pareiasaurus site. The skeleton was being excavated by Vyatka palaeontological museum specialists. Police operational group inspected the crime scene, admitted the fact of vandalism and started the investigative actions.
We remind that Kirov region government set the “Special security mode for the natural monument, the Kotelnich pareiasaurus site” №133/695 on december 20, 2011. Violating it will lead to administrative liability and, in some cases, to criminal liability
