The conference was held by geography faculty of VSHU (Vyatka State University of Humanities) uniting scientists from many Russian regions and scientific centers: Kaliningrad, Perm, Moscow, Chechen Republic and others.
Variety of themes discussed was also impressive. Theory of modern geography and comprehensive study of geolandscape systems; study of paleoclimate and paleolandscape in holocene and pleistocene based on archeological, palynological and paleontological data. To make range of themes even wider, our museum’s scientific associate read “Introductory report on find of a mammoth skeleton in Kotel’nich area of Kirov region”.
Report stated the results of excavation organized by Vyatka paleontological museum team to get a young mammoth skeleton near Shaleyevshina village, Kotel’nich area. Initial information on study of geology and conditions of burial and destruction of mammoth skeleton was also given during the report, as well as information on perspectives of further studies of Pleistocene fauna in Kirov region.
